Question

What do the noble scholars and muftis of the mighty Sharīah say concerning the following matter: Is Prayer on Last Friday of Ramadan Expiation for Missing Prayers?

By performing a few Rak'ahs as Qaza Umri (Salahs missed in the entire life so far) on Jumu'ah al-Wada (The last Friday of Ramadan), thinking that all previous Qaza Salahs will get performed, is simply false and the worst innovation. The narration that is presented for it is fabricated. This method of performing Qaza Salahs is contrary to the blessed Hadith. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: Whoever forgot (to offer) Salah, when he remembers, he should offer it. There is no expiation for it except offering it. Similarly, this method is also against consensus.

A similar question was asked to Sayyidi A’la Hazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه in Farsi. So, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said in reply: "This method (Qaza Umri) which has been invented as compensation for the missed Salahs, is the worst innovation. The narration about this is fabricated. This practice is strictly prohibited. All Muslims agree that such an intention and belief are invalid and rejected; and these are utter ignorance and a clearly misleading thing.[1]

وَاللہُ اَعْلَمُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَرَسُوْلُہ اَعْلَم صَلَّی اللّٰہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّم
