Question |
What do the noble scholars say regarding the following matter: What is the ruling on a man utilising the clothing, shoes etc., of a woman? Is there any difference in terms of if it is a Mahram1 or Non-Mahram, and does age make any difference? |
Regardless of the man being a Mahram or Non-Mahram, it is not permissible for him to utilise feminine clothing, shoes or any other feminine item. This will cause him to resemble a female, and those who adopt a resemblance to females are cursed in the Blessed Hadees. Thus, when the reason is resemblance [of a female], then whether it is a Mahram or Non-Mahram, in both cases, it is impermissible, as resemblance is present in both cases. Similarly, in which ever age they are worn, resemblance will still be found, therefore, if an elderly person or a young person were to make use of them, it will not be permissible for either. If parents or others were to put them on young children, the one putting them on will be sinful. |
